Settings Menu3-43Printer Settings Menu Functions and OperationPaper FeedDefault Paper Size Letter, Legal, A4, A3, A5, 11x17, Executive, Statement,Monarch, COM10, DL, ISO-B5, ISO-C5This parameter defines the default paper size used when the paper sizecannot be set within the application software, when no paper source isspecified.IMPORTANT• If you are printing from an OS that does not have a printerdriver for the machine (MS-DOS, UNIX, etc.) make surethat the paper loaded in the paper drawer matches thepaper size specified in this setting. If the paper sizespecified in this setting is not available, an error messagewill be displayed when the machine tries to print the joband the machine will stop. In addition, if a paper sourcehas not been selected through the application, themachine will automatically select default print settings forthe paper size and type. See "Setting a Paper Drawer forAuto Paper Selection/Auto Drawer Switching," in theReference Guide.NOTE• To avoid the possibility of your job being printed on thewrong size paper, always make sure that Executive-sizepaper is loaded in the Stack Bypass before printing anExecutive-size job. When the Manual Paper Select screenis displayed, press [Free Size].
