This system simultaneouslychanges the software calibration ofvarious sub-systems. Depending onthe option package, availablefeatures, and mode selected, thesuspension, steering, andpowertrain will change calibrationsto achieve the desired modecharacteristics. If the vehicle isequipped with Magnetic RideControl, selecting the various DriverModes adjusts the ride of thevehicle to enhance the rideperformance for the road conditionsand the selected mode.The Driver Mode Control has threeor four modes: Tour, Sport, Snow/Ice, and Track (LF4 Only). Snow/Icemode is only available on automatictransmission vehicles. Press andrelease the MODE button (ATS) orpress the y or z button (ATS/V)on the center console to activate themode menu in the cluster. The firstpress of the button will show thecurrent mode. Subsequent presseswill scroll though the availablemodes. The Tour and Sport modeswill feel similar on a smooth road.Select a new setting wheneverdriving conditions change.Tour ModeUse for normal city and highwaydriving to provide a smooth,soft ride.Sport ModeUse where road conditions orpersonal preference demand a morecontrolled response.When selected, the Sport modeindicator will display in the DriverInformation Center (DIC).When in Sport or Track mode, thevehicle will shift automatically butmay hold a lower gear longer than itwould in the normal driving mode
