Driver Information Center (DIC)The Driver Information Center (DIC) gives you thestatus of many of your vehicle’s systems. The DICis also used to display warning/status messages.All messages will appear in the DIC display locatedat the bottom of the instrument panel cluster, belowthe tachometer and speedometer. The DIC buttonsare located on the instrument panel, to the left ofthe steering wheel.The DIC comes on when the ignition is on. After ashort delay, the DIC will display the currentdriver and the information that was last displayedbefore the engine was turned off.The top line of the DIC display shows the vehiclesystem information and the warning/statusmessages. The bottom line of the DIC displayshows either the odometer, the trip odometer A orthe trip odometer B information on the left side.Only one odometer can appear at a time. See “TripInformation” under DIC Controls and Displayson page 258 for information on changing thedisplay to show the odometer or trip odometerinformation. The bottom line of the DIC displayalso shows the outside temperature on theright side and the shift lever position indicator inthe center. See Automatic Transmission Operationon page 116 for more information on the shiftlever positions.When the sport mode is active, an S will appearnext to the shift position indicator on the center ofthe DIC display. When the manual mode isactive, an M will appear on the DIC display. Whenthe normal mode is active, only the shift positionindicator will appear. While the Driver ShiftControl (DSC) feature is active, the DIC willchange to show the selected gear. See “DriverShift Control (DSC)” under Automatic TransmissionOperation on page 116 for more information.If a problem is detected, a warning message willappear on the display. Be sure to take anymessage that appears on the display seriously andremember that clearing the message will only makethe message disappear, not correct the problem.DIC Controls and DisplaysThe Driver Information Center (DIC) has differentmodes which can be accessed by pressingthe four DIC buttons located on the instrumentpanel, to the left of the steering wheel.258
