DocuMate 252 Scanner Userís Guide 67Scanning from PaperPortScanning from the Basic InterfaceThe Basic Interface can scan a preview of the image so you canadjust its appearance before scanning the final image. Afteradjusting the appearance, you click the Scan button on the BasicInterface (not on the scanner) to scan the item.1. From the Scan Type menu, choose the option to scan Simplex(one-sided) or Duplex (two-sided).2. Choose the color, grayscale, or black and white option from thePicture Type menu.3. Click the Preview button.The scanner scans the item and displays a preview image. Youcan now use the options on the Basic Interface to adjust theimage.4. Adjust the brightness, contrast, and resolution until the pictureis what you want.You can also change the picture type again, for example, fromcolor to grayscale.NOTE: If you want to preview the document before scanning,make sure only one page is loaded into the scanner.Click the Advanced Interface button ifyou would rather scan with theAdvanced Interface.NOTE: If you want to preview for a stack of pages, use one ofthe pages as a test page and load it into the scanner. Click thePreview button and adjust the scanner settings. Then replacethe page on the stack at its original position and load the stackinto the scanner. Then just click the Scan button.
