INSPECTIONUnpack and inspect the unit for obvious damage. This card should be labeledSVMi-8/SVMi-16E. If it is not, you have the wrong card.2. INSERTING THE CARDCheck that the iDCS power switch is the OFF position. The SVMi-8/SVMi-16E card isinstalled in any universal slot of any cabinet. Next position the SVMi-8/SVMi-16Ecard in the grooves of the card guide and gently slide the card in until it makescontact with the connector. Press gently but firmly on the top and bottom of thefront edge of the card until the card sits in its connector.3. POWER UPComplete installation of all other required iDCS interface cards and turn the iDCSpower switch ON.4. CONFIRM OPERATIONOn the SVMi-8 wait for the ACT LED to be either OFF or ON steady green. Either ofthese conditions indicates normal operation as defined in the table above. On theSVMi-16E the PGD must be red, and the AP/D and SD LEDS must be red as well.5. iDCS PROGRAMMINGPerform the following iDCS programming steps A through F. It is necessary toperform these at this time so that the SVMi-8/SVMi-16E will read these MMCs andinitialize accordingly.MMC 601: All SVMi-8/SVMi-16E ports must be assigned to group 529/549.MMC 601: Select either SEQUENTIAL or DISTRIBUTED ring mode.MMC 207: Set SVMi-8/SVMi-16E ports for VMAA use. This will be doneautomatically. You are just confirming at this point.If you are using SVMi-8/SVMi-16E for Auto Attendant use MMC 406and/or MMC 714 to set the desired trunk(s) to ring group 529/549.If you are using SVMi-8/SVMi-16E for Voice Mail make sure that alldesired stations are forwarded to group 529/549.MMC 741: Select “NO” for each station that you DO NOT want to create amailbox for.6. INITIALIZE SVMi-8/SVMi-16E. Use MMC 746 to halt or shutdown the SVMi, thenpress the red RST button to read these MMCs and initialize SVMi-8/SVMi-16Eaccordingly.
