Replacing the Thermal Transfer Film14The unit is capable of producing about 15 more copieswhen the Contrast/Remaining Film Indicator begins toflash. The unit has run out of thermal transfer film andcan no longer make copies when the Multi-Copy/ErrorIndicator flashes “ ”. Separately availablereplacement film (UG-6001) may be purchased fromthe dealer where you purchased the unit. Thermaltransfer film is replaced as follows.Notes on Replacing ThermalTransfer Film• Only use the designated product (UG-6001) fromPanasonic as the replacement film. (Note that usinganother type of replacement film may result indegraded printing quality or damage to the unit.)• Thermal transfer film is disposable. Dispose of usedthermal transfer film as “burnable” or “non-recyclable” rubbish.• A negative of the copied image will remain on thethermal transfer film. To protect the security of yourinformation, we recommend cutting up the usedthermal transfer film with scissors or shredder beforedisposing of it.1 Push down the printer open lever to open theprinter door, and remove the used film.2 Refer to steps 3 and 4 in the section of“Installing the Thermal Transfer Film” onpage 10.Note• If “ ” is still flashing after closing the printerdoor, make sure that the thermal transfer filmhas been installed properly and tightened.• The printer door should be closed to makecopies properly.
