2828For an external recording device to record DVB programmes, the integrated DVB system must be active to provide the signal.The Timer programming menu allows you to choose programmes that you wish to record. At the correct time, the DVB system willswitch on and tune to the correct station (even if the TV is in standby mode). If the recording device is compatible with Q --- Link orsimilar technologies (see page 31) and connected to the TV’s AV2 socket, you do not need to program the device --- the DVBsystem will control the recording process.The device must be connected to the TV’s AV2 socket using a SCART cable to record DVB programmes.Using the Menu button (1), open the Main Menu.Access the Setup menu.Move to DVB Timer programming (2).Access DVB Timer programming (3).Press the OK button to begin programming (4).Select the Programme position to be recorded (2).Move to the Date field (3).Set the Date on which recording is to take place (2).(1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6)The current Date and Time are shown at the top of the menu.See page 29 for further Date options.Move to the Start time field (3).Set the Start time (2).Move to the End time field (3).Set the End time (2).The duration of the recording is shown in the Min. column.The channel position, start and end times can also be input using thenumeric keys on the remote control (5).Move to the Subtitles field (3).If you wish to record subtitles (if available) select Auto (2).Press the OK button (4) to store.Notes:To delete a timer programme, select the recording with the cursor bar andpress the Red multi function button (6).To edit a previously entered timer programme, select it with the cursor bar(2) and press the OK button (4).Timer programmes can also be entered from the TV Guide --- see page 30.Note:Two minutes before the recording is due to start, a reminderwill appear on screen:Press the OK button (4) to remove the reminder from the screen.If you wish to cancel the recording, press the EXIT button (7).Notes:Thirty seconds before the recording is due to start the DVB system will tune tothe correct station. If you were already watching another DVB station you willsee the station change on screen. If you were watching an analogue channel,you will not see the change.You can continue to watch analogue stations while a timer recording is inprogress.If you attempt to switch to another DVB programme position while a timerrecording is in progress the message “DVB prog. is locked for recording” will bedisplayed. Press the OK button (4) to continue recording, or EXIT to unlock theprogramme position (7).
