When viewing analogue pictures,interference such as signal reflection from nearby buildingsor mountains causes ‘ghosting’, but still provides a viewablepicture. For the DVB system, interference such as this candisrupt the flow of data causing the picture to appear to bemade up of large blocks, or to freeze intermittently. If thepicture disappears completely, this could mean that signalquality is very poor. If this happens often, you may need toimprove your aerial system to provide a better signal.The Common Interface Module menu provides access tofunctions contained on a Common Interface Moduleinserted into the CI slot, located at the rear of the TV. Seepage 25.Allows you to select your favourite programme positions anddisplay them as a list in the TV Guide. See page 26.This option allows you to select the language in whichsubtitles should appear (if available) when the SUBTITLESbutton is pressed.This menu allows you to download new software to thetelevision. See page 27.This option allows you to set how long the informationbanner stays on screen. Select from 0 (no display) to 10seconds in 1 second increments.A screensaver can be enabled in DVB mode to help protectthis TV from screen damage. This option allows you to setthe time delay before a screensaver appears. Choose fromOff (no screensaver) 1 minute, 2 minute or 5 minute delays.Two different screensavers are launched: ---1. When no signal is being received for example, thePanasonic logo is displayed.2. When receiving DVB radio services for example, thebrightness and contrast of the screen will be reduced.To cancel either screensaver, press any button.Changes made within the DVB---Setup menu will causesettings to change from “Default” to “User defined”.
