Digital television is provided in threedifferent ways; it can be sent along a cable connection direct to your house, broadcast from a satellite, or broadcastusing traditional land based (terrestrial) transmitters. The first two options require you to have an extra “set top box”decoder and in the case of satellite, a receiving dish mounted outdoors. While allowing you to receive traditionalanalogue transmissions in the usual way, this television can also receive terrestrial digital services using an integrated(Digital Video Broadcasting) decoder. This allows you to enjoy the new era of digital terrestrial television, includinginteractive services, without the need for a “set top box” or satellite dish – an adequate roof or loft mounted antennais all you need.Warnings and Precautions ........................................ 3Accessories ............................................................... 4Fitting remote control batteries ................................. 4Cable cover removal and fitting ................................ 5How to open the front cover ...................................... 5How to use the LCD stand ........................................ 5Quick Start Guide ...................................................... 6Basic controls: front panel and remote control .......... 9Using the On Screen Displays ................................ 10Picture menu ............................................................ 11Sound menu ............................................................ 12Setup menu ............................................................. 13Tuning menu – overview ......................................... 14Tuning menu – Programme edit .............................. 15Adding / deleting a programme channel .............. 15Moving a programme channel ............................. 15Renaming a programme channel ........................ 16Locking a programme channel ............................ 16Copying programme information toa recording device .................................... 16Tuning menu – Auto setup ...................................... 17Tuning menu – Manual tuning ................................. 18Manual tuning (via front panel) .............................. 18Shipping condition ................................................... 19Owner ID ................................................................. 20DVB System Setup ................................................. 21Common Interface Module menu ............................ 22Favourites Setup menu ........................................... 23Information banner .................................................. 24System Update menu ............................................. 25DVB Timer programming menu .............................. 26TV Guide ................................................................. 28Q-Link ...................................................................... 29Aspect Controls ....................................................... 30Multi window ............................................................ 32Picture and text ....................................................... 33Photo View mode .................................................... 34VCR / DVD operation .............................................. 38Teletext operation .................................................... 39Audio / video connections ....................................... 42How to connect the Headphones / AV3 terminals 42How to connect the Audio Output terminals ........ 43How to connect the AV1 / 2 / 4 Scart terminals .... 43How to connect the Component Input terminals .. 43Troubleshooting ...................................................... 44DVB Troubleshooting .............................................. 45Maintenance ........................................................... 46Scart and S-video terminal information ................... 46Specifications .......................................................... 47
