Actual performance will varydepending on usage conditions.L When using Walkie-Talkie, talk time isabout 14 hours; standby time is about 14hours. To improve battery performance,turn off the handsets when not talking.L Outside calls cannot be received while inWalkie-Talkie mode.Changing the Walkie-Talkie modeTo ensure privacy, there are two Walkie-Talkie modes, common and group. Commonmode allows Walkie-Talkie conversationsbetween handsets registered to, and withinrange of, the same base unit. Group modeallows Walkie-Talkie conversations betweenhandsets set to the same 3-digit group ID.The default setting is group.Note:L When in common mode, handsets set to“Auto” base unit selection (page 48)cannot have Walkie-Talkie conversations.Either select a base unit number, orchange the Walkie-Talkie mode to“Group”.1 Press $ (centre of joystick).2 Select v, then press ,.3 Select “Setting”, then press ,.4 Select the desired mode, then press,.L If “Common” is selected, the setting issaved and the following steps can beskipped.5 If “Group” is selected, next enter a 3-digit group ID, then press ,.6 Assign a handset number (1-9) to beused during Walkie-Talkieconversations, then press , 2 times.L This number is displayed by thehandset only when using Walkie-Talkie.
