22TEN YEAR LIMITED WARRANTYKidde warrants that the enclosed alarm (but not the bat-tery) will be free from defects in material and workmanshipor design under normal use and service for a period of tenyears from the date of purchase. The obligation of Kiddeunder this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing thealarm or any part which we find to be defective in material,workmanship or design, free of charge, upon sending thealarm with proof of date of purchase, postage and returnto Customer Service Department, Kidde Safety Europe Ltd,Mathisen Way, Colnbrook, Berkshire, SL3 0HB.This warranty shall not apply to the alarm if it has been damaged,modified, abused or altered after the date of purchase or if it fails tooperate due to improper maintenance or inadequate DC power.Any implied warranties arising out of this sale, including but notlimited to the implied warranties of description, merchantability andfitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the abovewarranty period. In no event shall the Manufacturer be liable forloss of use of this product or for any indirect, special, incidental orconsequential damages, or costs, or expenses incurred by theor any other user of this product, whether due to a breach ofcontract, negligence, strict liability in tort or otherwise. TheManufacturer shall have no liability for any personal injury, propertydamage or any special, incidental, contingent or consequentialdamage of any kind resulting from gas leakage, fire or explosion.Also, Kidde makes no warranty, express or implied, written or oral,including that of merchantability or fitness for any particular pur-pose, with respect to the battery.The above warranty may not be altered except in writing signed byboth parties hereto.Your Kidde Combination Smoke & CO Alarm is not a substitute forproperty, fire, disability, life or other insurance of any kind.Appropriate insurance coverage is your responsibility. Consult yourinsurance agent.
