18REINSTALL IMMEDIATELY AFTER CLEANING AND THEN TESTUSING THE TEST/RESET BUTTON! IF TAMPER RESISTFEATURE HAS BEEN ACTIVATED, REFER TO TAMPER RESISTFEATURE DESCRIPTION ON PAGE 14 FOR REMOVALINSTRUCTIONS.• Never use detergent or other solvents to clean the unit.• Avoid spraying air freshener, hair spray, or other aerosolsnear the Smoke/CO Alarm.Do not paint the unit. Paint will seal the vents and interferewith the sensor’s ability to detect smoke and CO. Neverattempt to disassemble the unit or clean inside. This actionwill void your warranty. Move the Smoke/CO Alarm andplace in another location prior to performing any of thefollowing:• Staining or stripping wood floors or furniture• Painting• Wall papering• Using adhesivesStoring the unit in a plastic bag during any of the aboveprojects will protect the sensors from damage. Do notplace near a nappy bin.WARNING: Reinstall the Smoke/CO Alarm as soon aspossible to assure continuous protection.When household cleaning supplies or similar contaminatesare used, the area must be well ventilated.
