When the carbon monoxide alarm sounds:If alarm signal sounds:1) Immediately move to fresh air – outdoors or by anopen door/window. Do a head count tocheck that all persons are accounted for. Do notre-enter the premises nor move away fromthe open door/window until the emergency servicesresponders have arrived, the premiseshave been aired out, and your alarm remains in itsnormal condition.2) Call your gas emergency services: 0800 111 999, oryour local Gas Safe Registered Engineer:Alternatively, for solid fuel emergencies callHETAS (0845 634 5626) or for oil based emergenciescall Oftec (0845 658 5080).Never restart the source of the CO problem until ithas been corrected. Never ignore the soundof the alarm! If the alarm is sounding, pressing thetest/reset button will terminate the alarm. Ifthe CO condition that caused the alert in the firstplace continues, the alarm will reactivate.
