To shift to an easier (lower) gear, press thesmall shifting lever further inwards until you hear or feela second click. You can shift down by up to three gears atonce.Front shifting lever: Press the small shifting lever inwardsas far as it will go to shift from the small chain wheel tothe large chain wheel. To shift from the large chain wheeldown to the small chain wheel, press the small shiftinglever in the centre until you hear or feel a distinctive click.To prevent chain rubbing in extreme positions, theshifting lever at the front has a trimming function forthe front derailleur. You can use this if the chain is onthe large chain wheel.To shift the front derailleur to the trim position, pressthe small shifting lever gently inwards until you hearor feel a gentle click.Setting the swivel rangeThe range of the shifting and brake lever pivoting move-ment can be adjusted individually to suit the size of yourhand.› First, set the shifting lever range then adjust thebrake lever until the brake lever limit stop makescontact with the shifting lever. This ensures thatthe brake lever cannot strike the shifting leverwhen it springs back.› To adjust the range of the shifting lever, push itinwards to reach the range adjustment screw.Push the adjustment screw inwards using a man-drel or your fingernail and turn it anticlockwiseto move the shifting lever closer to the handle-bars.19.1.1.2 Shifting lever on MTB, trekking and touring bikeStandard shifting leverBoth levers a and b always revert to the initial positionafter they are pressed.
