When using a direct-to, the500W-series unit uses the nearest airport as a refer-ence when displaying available departures. (SeeSection 5 - Procedures for information on selectingdepartures using the PROC key.) Departures arenot available for all airports, in which case thedeparture windows will show “NONE.”To select a departure for the departure airport:1. From the Active Flight Plan Page, pressMENU to display the Active Flight Plan PageOptions.2. Highlight the “Select Departure?” option fromthe Active Flight Plan Page Options and pressENT.3. A window appears listing the available depar-tures for your departure airport. Turn the smallright knob to select the desired departure andpress ENT.4. A second window appears listing availabletransitions for the departure. Turn the smallright knob to highlight the desired transitionwaypoint and press ENT.5. A third window appears listing available run-ways for the departure. Turn the small rightknob to highlight the desired runway and pressENT.6. With “Load?” highlighted, press ENT. Thedeparture is now inserted into your flightplan.Remove Approach, Arrival, or DepartureRemove Approach? deletes the currently selectedapproach from the active flight plan. Remove Arrival?deletes the current Arrival (STAR) from the activeflight plan. Remove Departure? deletes the currentdeparture (SID) from the active flight plan.To remove an approach, arrival or departure fromthe active flight plan:1. Press MENU and turn the large right knobto select the “Remove Approach?”, “RemoveArrival?” or “Remove Departure?” option fromthe active flight plan page options and pressENT.Approaches, arrivals and departures can allbe removed from the active flight plan byselecting the corresponding “Remove...”option.To remove an approach, arrival or departure fromthe active flight plan:1. From the Active Flight Plan Page, press MENUto display the Active Flight Plan Page Options.2. Select the “Remove Approach?”, “RemoveArrival?” or “Remove Departure?” option andpress ENT.3.
