If by accident the oven should runempty a minute or two, no harm is done.However, try to avoid operating the ovenempty at any time—it saves energy andprolongs the life of the oven. Do not use the oven for storage purposes.Do not leave paper products, cookingutensils or food in the oven when notin use. If materials inside the oven should ignite,keep oven door closed, turn oven offand shut off power at the fuse or circuitbreaker panel. If the door is opened,the fire may spread. This microwave oven is not approved ortested for marine use. Some products such as whole eggs andsealed containers—for example, closedjars—will explode and should not beheated in this microwave oven. Such useof the microwave oven could result ininjury. Do not operate the microwave ovenwithout the turntable and support in place. Avoid heating baby food in glass jars, evenwith the lid off. Make sure all infant foodis thoroughly cooked. Stir food todistribute the heat evenly. Be careful toprevent scalding when warming formulaor breast milk. The container may feelcooler than the milk really is. Always testthe milk before feeding the baby. Do not boil eggs in a microwave oven.Pressure will build up inside the eggyolk and will cause it to burst, possiblyresulting in injury. Foods with unbroken outer “skin” suchas potatoes, sausages, tomatoes, apples,egg yolks, chicken livers and other gibletsshould be pierced to allow steam to escapeduring cooking. Don’t defrost frozen beverages innarrow-necked bottles (especiallycarbonated beverages). Even if thecontainer is opened, pressure can buildup.
