36Safety InstructionsOperating InstructionsCare and CleaningTroubleshooting TipsConsumer SupportUsing the self-cleaning lower oven.The oven door must be closed and all controls must be set correctly for the cycle to work properly.How to Delay the Start of CleaningPress the Self Clean pad for a4-hour clean time.If a time other than 4 hours isneeded, use the number pads andenter the desired clean time.You can change the clean time to anytime between 3 hours and 5 hours,depending on how dirty your oven is.A 3-hour self-clean time is recommendedfor use when cleaning small, containedspills. A self-clean time of 4 hoursor longer is recommended for adirtier oven.Press the Delay Start pad.Using the number pads, enter thetime of day you want the clean cycleto start.Press the Start pad.The door locks automatically. The displaywill show the start time. It will not bepossible to open the oven door untilthe temperature drops below the locktemperature and the LOCKED lightgoes off.When the LOCKED light goes off, you willbe able to open the door.After a Clean CycleYou may notice some white ash in theoven. Wipe it up with a damp cloth afterthe oven cools.If white spots remain, remove them with asoap-filled steel-wool pad and rinse thoroughlywith a vinegar and water mixture.These deposits are usually a salt residuethat cannot be removed by the cleancycle.If the oven is not clean after one cleancycle, repeat the cycle. You cannot set the oven for cookinguntil the oven is cool enough for thedoor to unlock. While the oven is self-cleaning, youcan press the Clock pad to displaythe time of day. To return to the cleancountdown, press the Self Clean pad. If the racks become hard to slide, wipethe rack supports with cooking oil.
