Remove the key from thetransmitter by pressing the thinbutton near the bottom of thetransmitter and pulling the keyout. Do not pull the key outwithout pressing the button.2. Separate the transmitter with aflat, thin object inserted into theslot on the side of thetransmitter.Do not try to separate thetransmitter by inserting a flat,thin object into the key slot. Thiswill permanently damage thetransmitter.3. Remove the old battery. Do notuse a metal object.4. Insert the new battery, positiveside facing down. Replace with aCR2032 or equivalent battery.5. Snap the transmitter backtogether.6. Reinstall the key into thetransmitter.Remote Vehicle StartThis vehicle may have a remotestarting feature that allows you tostart the engine from outside thevehicle./ (Remote Vehicle Start): Thisbutton will be on the RKEtransmitter if you have remote start.The automatic climate control maybegin to heat or cool your vehicleduring remote start depending onthe temperature inside and outsideof the vehicle. The windscreendefroster and/or rear windowdemister turn on if it is cold outside.If the vehicle has heated seats, theymay also be turned on duringremote start to warm up the seats incold weather. Normal operation ofthe climate control system returnsafter the ignition is turned to ON/RUN. See Dual Automatic ClimateControl System on page 8‑1.Laws in some local communitiesmay restrict the use of remotestarters. For example, some lawsmay require a person using remotestart to have the vehicle in viewwhen doing so. Check localregulations for any requirements onremote starting of vehicles.If your vehicle is low on fuel, do notuse the remote start feature. Thevehicle may run out of fuel.The RKE transmitter range may beless while the vehicle is running.Other conditions can affect theperformance of the transmitter; seeRemote Keyless Entry (RKE)System on page 2‑4 for additionalinformation.
