The digital odometer willread 999,999 if it is turned back.If the vehicle needs a new odometerinstalled, it must be set to themileage total of the old odometer.If that is not possible, then it mustbe set at zero and a label must beput on the driver door to show theold mileage reading when the newodometer was installed.Trip OdometerThe trip odometer can record thenumber of kilometres or milestravelled for up to two trips.The trip odometer is part of theDriver Information Centre (DIC); formore information see DriverInformation Centre (DIC) onpage 5‑28.For vehicles that have thenavigation system, see thenavigation manual for moreinformation.Rev CounterThe tachometer displays the enginespeed in revolutions perminute (rpm).Notice: If the engine is operatedwith the tachometer in the shadedwarning area, the vehicle couldbe damaged and the damagewould not be covered by thevehicle warranty. Do not operatethe engine with the tachometer inthe shaded warning area.The CTS-V tachometer has tracerlights that follow the movement ofthe tachometer indicator. The tracerlights also flash when it is time toup-shift to avoid the engine speedlimit. See Automatic Transmissionon page 9‑21 or Manual Gearbox onpage 9‑25 for more information.Fuel GaugeWhen the ignition is on, the fuelgauge indicates how much fuel isleft in the tank.
