Slowly let upon the clutch pedal while pressingon the accelerator pedal.After a complete stop, if it is hard toshift into 1 (First), let up on theclutch pedal, then press it backdown and shift into 1 (First).2 (Second): Press the clutch pedaland let up on the accelerator pedal,then shift into 2 (Second). Then,slowly let up on the clutch pedalwhile accelerating.3 (Third), 4 (Fourth), 5 (Fifth), and6 (Sixth): Shift into 3 (Third),4 (Fourth), 5 (Fifth), and 6 (Sixth) thesame as 2 (Second).To stop, let up on the acceleratorpedal and press the brake pedal.Just before the vehicle stops, pressthe clutch pedal and the brakepedal, and shift to Neutral.Neutral: Use this position whenyou start or idle the engine. Theshift lever is in Neutral when it iscentered in the shift pattern, not inany gear.R (Reverse): To back up, pressdown the clutch pedal, completelystop the vehicle, and shift intoR (Reverse). Let up on the clutchpedal slowly while pressing theaccelerator pedal.{ WARNINGIf you skip a gear when youdownshift, you could lose controlof the vehicle. You could injureyourself or others.
