Fuses and Circuit BreakersThe wiring circuits in your vehicle are protectedfrom short circuits by a combination of fusesand circuit breakers. This greatly reducesthe chance of fires caused by electrical problems.Look at the silver-colored band inside the fuse.If the band is broken or melted, replace the fuse.Be sure you replace a bad fuse with a newone of the identical size and rating. If a fuse shouldblow, see your dealer for service immediately. If you ever have a problem on the road and do nothave a spare fuse, you can “borrow” one that hasthe same amperage. Pick some feature of yourvehicle that you can get along without – like theradio or cigarette lighter – and use its fuse, if it is thecorrect amperage. Replace it as soon as you can.Instrument Panel Fuse BlockThe panel fuse block is located on the passenger’sside of the vehicle, under the instrument paneland under the toe-board.Remove the carpet and toe-board covering toaccess the fuse block by pulling at the top of eachcorner of the panel.
