Parental Control Button: This button is located on thenavigation system screen. Press this button while aDVD or CD is playing to freeze the video and mute theaudio. The video screen will display Parental ControlON and the power indicator light on the DVD player willflash. It will also disable all other button operationsfrom the remote control and the DVD player, with theexception of the eject button. The driver will then be ableto gain the attention of the rear seat passengers.Press this button again to restore normal operation ofthe DVD player.This button may also be used to turn the DVD playerpower on and automatically resume play if the vehicle isin an enabled power mode.Video ScreenThe video screen is located in the floor console. Lift upthe screen by the top or the sides into the full openposition, Adjust the screen’s position as desired. Whenthe video screen is not in use, close the screen.The DVD player and display will continue to operatewhen the screen is in either the up or the down position.The video screen contains the infrared transmitters forthe wireless headphones and the infrared receiverfor the remote control. If the screen is in the closedposition, the infrared signals will not be available for theoperation of the headphones and the remote control.Notice: Avoid directly touching the video screen, asdamage may occur. SeeCleaning the Video Screenon page 3-127 for more information.Remote ControlTo use the remote control, aim it at the transmitterwindow above the video screen and press the desiredbutton. Direct sunlight or very bright light may affect theability of the entertainment system to receive signals fromthe remote control. If the remote control does not seem tobe working, the batteries may need to be replaced. See“Battery Replacement” later in this section.Objects blocking the line of sight may also affect thefunction of the remote control.3-116
