Mirror OperationThe automatic dimming feature is active each time thevehicle is started.To turn the automatic dimming feature on or off, pressand release the on/off button. The indicator light willilluminate when this feature is active.Compass OperationPress the on/off button once to turn the compass onor off.When the ignition and the compass feature are on, thecompass will show two character boxes forapproximately two seconds. After two seconds, themirror will display the current compass heading.Compass CalibrationIf after two seconds the display does not show acompass heading (N for North for example), there maybe a strong magnetic field interfering with thecompass. Such interference may be caused by amagnetic antenna mount, note pad holder or similarobject. If the letter C should ever appear in the compasswindow, the compass may need calibration.The mirror can be calibrated by driving the vehicle incircles at 5 mph (8 km/h) or less until the display reads adirection.The compass can be placed in calibration mode bypressing and holding the on/off button until a C is shownin the compass display.2-35
