1 Safety1.2.1. Safety in the manipulator system3HAC022033-001 Revision: K20© Copyright 2004-2011 ABB. All rights reserved.1.2 General safety information1.2.1. Safety in the manipulator systemValidity and responsibilityThe information does not cover how to design, install and operate a complete system, nordoes it cover all peripheral equipment that can influence the safety of the entire system. Toprotect personnel, the complete system must be designed and installed in accordance with thesafety requirements set forth in the standards and regulations of the country where themanipulator is installed. The users of ABB industrial manipulators are responsible for ensuring that the applicablesafety laws and regulations in the country concerned are observed and that the safety devicesnecessary to protect people working with the manipulator system are designed and installedcorrectly. Personnel working with manipulators must be familiar with the operation andhandling of the industrial manipulator as described in the applicable documents, for example:• User’s guide - S4Cplus (M2000)• Operating manual - IRC5 with FlexPendant• Product manualConnection of external safety devicesApart from the built-in safety functions, the manipulator is also supplied with an interface forthe connection of external safety devices. An external safety function can interact with othermachines and peripheral equipment via this interface. This means that control signals can acton safety signals received from the peripheral equipment as well as from the manipulator.Limitation of liabilityAny information given in this manual regarding safety must not be construed as a warrantyby ABB that the industrial manipulator will not cause injury or damage even if all safetyinstructions are complied with.Related informationType of information Detailed in document SectionInstallation of safety devices Product manual for the manipulator Installation andcommissioningChanging operating modes User´s Guide - S4Cplus (RobotWare4.0)Operating manual - IRC5 withFlexPendantStart-upOperating modesRestricting the working space Product manual for the manipulator Installation andcommissioning工控帮助教小舒QQ2823408167长沙工控帮教育科技有限公司
