TEST MODE25.1DescriptionThe Test Mode comes in two versions;• A limited test mode for EasyCoder/EasyPak 501.• A full test mode for EasyCoder/EasyPak 501 E and EasyCoder/EasyPak 501 SA.You can enter the full test mode on an EasyCoder 501 or EasyPak501 if a special Service GAL circuit is fitted on IC-700 on the CPUboard and a Service Keyboard is connected to P-2, replacing theexisting keyboard.The Service GAL and the Service Keyboard come as a kit, articlenumber 1-501660-00. The kit is recommended for service of Easy-Pak 501 printers and EasyCoder 501 printers without UBI Shellinstalled (customized applications) and facilitates LSS adjustmentand communication reset.The limited Test Mode for EasyCoder/EasyPak 501 allows a seriesof test labels to be printed (see chapter 24.1). Enter the mode asfollows (also see diagram on next page):• Turn off the printer.• Lift the printhead.• Press the < Print > key and keep pressing it.• Turn on the power. Keep on pressing < Print >.• Wait a few moments until this message appears in the display:PRINT TEST LABELLower head!• Release the < Print > key and lower the printhead to “Print”position.• This message appears: = PRINTLift head = EXIT• Press the < Print > key. Each time the key is pressed, a new testlabel is printed in a loop.• To exit, lift the printhead and press < Print >.• Turn off the power.• Restart the printer as usual.Continued!25.2EasyCoder/EasyPak 501
