152Notes About ThisRecorderOn operation• If the recorder is brought directly from acold to a warm location, or is placed in avery damp room, moisture may condenseon the lenses inside the recorder. Shouldthis occur, the recorder may not operateproperly. In this case, if the recorder is on,leave it on (if it is off, leave it off) for aboutan hour until the moisture evaporates.• When you move the recorder, take out anydiscs and do not apply shock or vibration tothe hard disk drive to avoid damaging thedisc or hard disk drive (page 3).On adjusting volumeDo not turn up the volume while listening toa section with very low level inputs or noaudio signals. If you do, the speakers may bedamaged when a peak level section isplayed.On cleaningClean the cabinet, panel, and controls with asoft cloth slightly moistened with a milddetergent solution. Do not use any type ofabrasive pad, scouring powder or solventsuch as alcohol or benzine.On cleaning discs, disc/lens cleanersDo not use cleaning discs or disc/lenscleaners (including wet or spray types).These may cause the recorder tomalfunction.Notes about the discs• To keep the disc clean, handle the disc byits edge. Do not touch the surface. Dust,fingerprints, or scratches on the disc maycause it to malfunction.• Do not expose the disc to direct sunlight orheat sources such as hot air ducts, or leaveit in a car parked in direct sunlight as thetemperature may rise considerably insidethe car.• After playing, store the disc in its case.• Clean the disc with a cleaning cloth. Wipethe disc from the centre out.• Do not use solvents such as benzine,thinner, commercially available cleaners,or anti-static spray intended for vinyl LPs.• Do not use the following discs.– A disc that has a nonstandard shape (e.g.,card, heart).– A disc with a label or sticker on it.– A disc that has cellophane tape or stickeradhesive on it.On replacement of partsIn the event that this unit is repaired,repaired parts may be collected for reuse orrecycling purposes.
