Before connecting● Before connecting cables, carefully read the operatinginstructions for the external device to be connected.● Turn the power off to all devices before connectingany cables.● Take note of the following points before connectingthe cables. Failure to do so may result in malfunction.• When connecting a cable to the unit or a deviceconnected to the unit itself, touch a nearby metallicobject to eliminate the chance of a static dischargethat could damage electronic components.• Do not use unnecessarily long cables to connecta device to the unit or to the unit body. The longerthe cable, the more susceptible will it be to noise.Do not leave cables coiled, the coils can pickup noise by induction and they also act as radioantennae.• When connecting cables, connect the GND first, then insert the connecting terminal of the device.● Acquire any cable needed to connect the externaldevice to the system that is not supplied with thedevice nor available as an option.● If a plug is too big it can make contact with adjacentplugs, or parts of the device itself and this willinterfere with proper connection. Use a cable witha suitable plug size to ensure proper alignment andconnection.● When connecting a LAN cable with a plug cover, beaware that the cover may come in contact with theback cover of the Display and it may be difficult todisconnect the cable.● If signals from video equipment contain too muchjitter, the images on the screen may wobble. Inthis case, a time base corrector (TBC) must beconnected.● When the sync signal output from the PC or videoequipment is disturbed, such as might happen whenvideo output settings are changed, the video imagemight change colour momentarily.● The unit accepts Composite video signals, YCBCR/YPBPR signals (PC IN), analogue RGB signals (PCIN) and digital signals.● Some PC models are not compatible with this unit.● Use a cable compensator when long cables must beused to connect devices to the unit. Otherwise theimage may not display correctly.PC Input Terminals connectionPC IN AUDIO1INShared with DVI-D INConnect a cablewhich matchesthe audio outputterminal on thecomputer.(Female)(Male)Mini D-sub15p cable (commercially available)a conversion adapter is commercially available ifneeded.Stereo mini plug M3 cable (commercially available)PCNotes● The Display will accept computer signals with ahorizontal scanning frequency of 30 to 110 kHzand a vertical scanning frequency of 48 to 120 Hz.(However, images with more than 1,200 lines will notdisplay correctly.)● The Display resolution maximum is 1,440 × 1,080dots when the aspect mode is set to “4:3”, and 1,920× 1,080 dots when the aspect mode is set to “16:9”.If the Display resolution exceeds these maxima, itmay not be possible to show fine detail with sufficientclarity.● The PC input terminals are DDC2B-compatible. Ifthe computer is not DDC2B-compatible, changes willhave to be made to the settings when the connectionis made.● Some PC models cannot be connected to the Display.● There is no need to use an adapter for computerswith a DOS/V compatible Mini D-sub 15P connector.● The computer shown in the illustration is for examplepurposes only.● Additional equipment and cables shown are notsupplied with this Display.● Do not set horizontal and vertical scanningfrequencies for PC signals which are above or belowthe specified frequency range.English18
