Telephone15Handset phonebookThe handset phonebook allows you to makecalls without having to dial manually. Youcan add 200 names and phone numbers tothe handset phonebook and search forphonebook entries by name, category, or byperforming a voice search.Adding entries to the handsetphonebook1 KX-TCD560:Press . (soft key), then press w.KX-TCD580:Press . (soft key), w, then press,.L The display shows the number ofavailable entries in the phonebook.2 Enter the party’s name (16 charactersmax.; see page 49 for character entry),then press ,.3 Enter the party’s phone number (24digits max.), then press ,.4 Select a category for the entry, or select“Off”.L You can search for handsetphonebook entries by category (page16).L You can change the category names(page 25).L Caller ID subscribers can useadditional private category features(page 32).5 To save the entry, press , 2 times.6 Press {ih}.Note:L If there is no space to store new entries,“Memory Full” will be displayed. Eraseunnecessary entries (page 18).To edit/correct a mistakeUse the joystick to place the cursor on thenumber or character you wish to erase, thenpress {C}. Place the cursor to the right ofwhere you want to insert a number orcharacter, then press the appropriate dialkey.Note:L Press and hold {C} to erase all numbersor characters.Finding and calling a handsetphonebook entryHandset phonebook entries can besearched for alphabetically, by firstcharacter, by category, by voice tag, or byscrolling through all phonebook entries.Once you have found the desired entry,press {C} or {s} to dial the phone number.Scrolling through all entries1 Press . (soft key).2 Push the joystick up or down repeatedlyto display the desired entry.Searching alphabeticallyThis method is useful when you aresearching for an entry which starts with aletter of the alphabet.1 Press . (soft key).2 Press the dial key ({0} to {9}) whichcorresponds to the letter you aresearching for (page 49).L Press the same dial key repeatedly todisplay the first entry corresponding toeach letter located on that dial key.L If there is no entry corresponding tothe letter you selected, the next entrywill be displayed.3 Push the joystick up or down repeatedlyto scroll through the phonebook ifnecessary.
