(It cannotbe used even if it is taken out from the cartridge)y Remove the DVD-RAM or 8cm disc from the cartridge andplace it on the tray. (TYPE1 cannot be used) Refer to theinstructions on how to remove the disc from the cartridge.Notey RAM It is not possible to record or play continuously from one sideof a double sided disc to the other. You will need to eject the discand turn it over.Inserting, removing the USB memoryInserting the USB memoryWhen the USB memory is fl ashing, the USB memory is being readfrom. Do not turn off the unit or remove the USB memory. Suchaction may result in malfunction or loss of the USB memory’scontents.y Before inserting any USB memory to thisunit, ensure that the data stored thereinhas been backed up.y Check the orientation of the USBconnector and insert it straight in.y Insert an USB device while the unit isstopped, so the “USB device” screen isdisplayed. Select an item and press [OK]to switch to the USB-related operations(➡ 42, 60, 61, 62, 66, 69, 74).Removing the USB memoryy Complete all USB-related operations and pull the USB memorystraight out.y If a USB memory being accessed is pulled out, then the data maybe damaged.Inserting, removing the SD cardWhen the card indicator (“SD”) on the unit’s display is fl ashing, thecard is being read from or written to. Do not turn off the unit orremove the card. Such action may result in malfunction or loss ofthe card’s contents.y Inserting foreign objects can cause a malfunction.Inserting the cardPress on the centre of thecard until it clicks intoplace.Insert the card label up withthe cut-off corner on the right.If you are using aminiSD card or amicroSD card, insertit into the adaptorthat comes with thecard.Insert and removethis adaptor from theunit.ADAPTERe.g.,miniSDRemoving the card1 Press on the centre of the card.2 Pull it straight out.Automatic drive select functiony If you insert an SD card while the unit is stopped, the “SD Card”screen is displayed. (This may cause discwarping and un-balanced rotation, rendering it unusable.)y Write on the label side of the disc only with a soft, oil-based feltpen. Do not use ballpoint pens or other hard writing implements.y Do not use record cleaning sprays, benzine, thinner, staticelectricity prevention liquids or any other solvent.y Do not use scratch-proof protectors or covers.y Do not expose the terminals of the card to water, garbage or otherstrange things.y Do not drop stack, or impact discs. Do not place objects on them.y Do not use the following discs:– Discs with exposed adhesive from removed stickers or labels(rental discs, etc.).– Discs that are badly warped or cracked.– Irregularly shaped discs, such as heartshapes.y Do not place in the following areas:– In direct sunlight.– In very dusty or humid areas.– Near a heater.– Locations susceptible to signifi cantdifference in temperature (condensation can occur).– Where static electricity or electromagnetic waves occur.y To protect discs from scratches and dirt, return them to their caseswhen you are not using them.DO NOT
