2 2.2 Operation Precautions2-4Precaution Chapter 22.2 Operation PrecautionsOperating EnvironmentThe environmental requirements for correct operation of the machine are asfollows: Temperature: 50°F to 86°F with fluctuations of no more than 18°F within an hour Humidity: 15% to 85% with fluctuations of no more than 10% within an hourProper UseTo ensure the optimum performance of the machine, follow the precautions listedbelow:- Never place heavy objects on the Original Glass or subject it to shocks.- Never open any machine doors or turn off the machine while it is making copies/printing, as a paper misfeed could result.- Never bring any magnetized object, or use flammable sprays or liquids, near themachine. Always make sure that the power plug is completely plugged into the electricaloutput.- Always make sure that the machine’s power plug is visible and not hidden bythe machine. Always unplug the machine from the electrical outlet if the machine is not to beused for a long period of time. Always provide good ventilation when making a large number of continuouscopies/printed pages.CAUTIONA negligible amount of ozone is generated during normal operation of thismachine. An unpleasant odor may, however, be detected in poorly ventilatedrooms during extensive machine operations. For a comfortable operating environment, it is recommended that the room bewell ventilated.
