Keysight B2961A/B2962A User’s Guide, Edition 3 3-27InstallationInstalling the Interlock CircuitInstalling the Interlock CircuitThe interlock circuit is a simple electric circuit, as shown in Figure 3-12. The circuitelectrically opens when an access door is opened, and closes when the door isclosed.B2961A/B2962A cannot apply high voltages over 42 V when the Digital I/Ointerlock terminal is open. To perform high voltage measurements, theB2961A/B2962A interlock terminal must be connected to the interlock circuitinstalled in the measurement environment such as the shielding box. The interlockcircuit is important and necessary to prevent electrical shock when the user touchesthe measurement terminals.WARNING Hazardous voltage, instrument maximum output voltage may appear at theHigh Force, High Sense, and Guard terminals if the fixture cover is closed. To prevent electrical shock, do not expose these lines.Une tension dangereuse, une tension de sortie maximale de l'appareil peutapparaître aux bornes High Force, High Sense et Guard si le couvercle del'équipement est fermé. Afin d’éviter toute décharge électrique, n’exposez pasces lignes.Figure 3-12 Interlock CircuitRequirements • LED (Keysight part number 1450-0641 or equivalent), 1 ea.• Mechanical switch (Keysight N1254A-402 or equivalent), 2 ea.• Resistor, 500 to 1 k (choose lower one to get higher output of LED), 1 ea.Mechanical switchesShielding boxLEDAccess doorD-sub connectorInterlock circuit B2961A/B2962ADigital I/O15, 191417, 181624, 25Dsub cable15, 1922, 2316, 172414Negative Positiveor22RR: 500 Ω to 1 kΩ25R
