EN 51REFERENCESCAUTIONSAC AdapterWhen using the AC Adapter in areas other thanthe USAThe provided AC Adapter features automaticvoltage selection in the AC range from 110 V to240 V.USING HOUSEHOLD AC PLUG ADAPTERIn case of connecting the unit’s power cord to anAC wall outlet other than American NationalStandard C73 series type use an AC plug adapter,called a “Siemens Plug”, as shown.For this AC plug adapter, consult your nearest JVCdealer.Battery PacksThe supplied batterypack is a lithium-ionbattery. Before using thesupplied battery pack oran optional battery pack,be sure to read thefollowing cautions:● To avoid hazards... do not burn.... do not short-circuit the terminals. Whentransporting, make sure the provided battery capis attached to the battery. If the battery cap ismisplaced, carry the battery in a plastic bag.... do not modify or disassemble.... do not expose the battery to temperaturesexceeding 60°C (140°F), as this may cause thebattery to overheat, explode or catch fire.... use only specified chargers.● To prevent damage and prolong servicelife... do not subject to unnecessary shock.... charge in an environment where temperaturesare within the tolerances shown in the chartbelow. This is a chemical reaction type battery —cooler temperatures impede chemical reaction,while warmer temperatures can preventcomplete charging.... store in a cool, dry place. Extended exposure tohigh temperatures will increase natural dischargeand shorten service life.... fully charge and then fully discharge the batteryevery 6 months when storing the battery packover a long period time.... remove from charger or powered unit when not inuse, as some machines use current even whenswitched off.NOTES:● It is normal for the battery pack to be warm aftercharging, or after use.Temperature Range SpecificationsCharging: 10°C to 35°C (50°F to 95°F)Operation: 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F)Storage: –20°C to 50°C (–4°F to 122°F)● The lower the temperature, the longer rechargingtakes.● Charging times are for a fully discharged batterypack.CassettesTo properly use and store your cassettes, besure to read the following cautions:● During use... make sure the cassette bears the Mini DV mark.... be aware that recording onto prerecorded tapesautomatically erases the previously recordedvideo and audio signals.... make sure the cassette is positioned properlywhen inserting.... do not load and unload the cassette repeatedlywithout allowing the tape to run at all. Thisslackens the tape and can result in damage.... do not open the front tape cover. This exposesthe tape to fingerprints and dust.● Store cassettes... away from heaters or other heat sources.... out of direct sunlight.... where they won’t be subject to unnecessaryshock or vibration.... where they won’t be exposed to strong magneticfields (such as those generated by motors,transformers or magnets).... vertically, in their original cases.Plug adapterTerminalsThe Benefits Of Lithium-Ion BatteriesLithium-ion battery packs are small but have alarge power capacity. However, when one isexposed to cold temperatures (below 10°C/50°F), its usage time becomes shorter and itmay cease to function. If this happens, placethe battery pack in your pocket or other warm,protected place for a short time, then re-attach it to the camcorder.
