Hydrauliclog splittersdevelophigh fluid pressuresduringopera-tion. Fluidescapingthrougha pin hole openingcan penetrateyourskin and causeblood poisoning,gangrene,or death.Giveattentionto the followinginstructionsatall times:a. Donotcheckforleakswithyourhand.b. Donotoperatemachinewithfrayed,kinked,cracked,or damagedhoses,fitting,or tubing.c. Stoptheengineandrelievehydraulicsystempressurebeforechangingor adjustingfittings,hoses,tubing,orothersystemcomponents.d. Donotadjustthepressuresettingsofthepumpor valve.10.Leakscan be detectedby passingcardboardor wood,whilewearingprotectiveglovesand safetyglasses,overthe suspectedarea.Lookfor discolorationof cardboardor wood.11.If injuredby escapingfluid, seea doctor immediately.Seriousinfectionor reactioncan developif propermedicaltreatmentis notadministeredimmediately.12.Keep the operatorzone andadjacentarea clearfor safe,securefooting.13.If your machineis equippedwith an internalcombustionengineand it is intendedfor use nearany unimprovedforest,brush,orgrass coveredland,the engineexhaustshouldbe equippedwith aspark arrester.Make sureyoucomplywith applicablelocal,state,and federalcodes.Takeappropriatefirefightingequipmentwithyou.14.Thismachineshouldbe usedfor splittingwoodonly,do notuse itfor any otherpurpose.15.Followthe instructionsin the manual(s)providedwith anyattachment(s)for this machine.Preparation1.
