18Preparing the CameraCharging the Battery PackUse the following procedures to charge the battery pack the first time youuse the camera or when the “Change the battery pack” message displays.To protect the battery pack and prolong its life, do not charge it forlonger than 24 hours continuously.1 Insert the battery pack into thebattery charger.Align the battery pack according to thearrows on the battery and the charger.Insert the battery securely.2 Battery charger model names and typesvary by region.(For CB-2LU)Plug the battery charger into apower outlet.(For CB-2LUE)Attach the power cord to the batterycharger and plug it into a power outlet.• The charge indicator will light red whilethe battery pack is charging.
