When thebutton is released, the requested modechange is made. These conditions may causepremature wear on the vehicle'spowertrain.Driving on clean, dry tarmac in 4 m or4 n may:. Cause a vibration to be felt in thesteering system.. Cause tyres to wear faster.. Make the transfer case harder toshift, and cause it to run noisier.{ WarningWith four-wheel drive, the vehiclewill be free to roll if the transfercase is in N (Neutral), even whenthe gear lever is in P (Park). Be surethe transfer case is in a drive gear— 2 m, 4 m, or 4 n — not inN (Neutral). See Shifting Into Park0 205.CautionExtended high-speed operation in 4n may damage or shorten the life ofthe drivetrain.Engagement noise and bump whenshifting between 4 n and 4 m or fromN (Neutral), with the engine running,is normal.Shifting into 4 n will turn TractionControl and StabiliTrak off.
