Power Door LocksThe power door lock switches are located on thefront doors.K (Unlock): Press to unlock the doors.Q (Lock): Remove the key from the ignition andpress to lock the doors.Delayed LockingWith this feature, you can delay the actual locking ofthe doors.When the power door lock switch is pressed when thekey is not in the ignition and the driver’s door is opened,a chime will sound three times indicating that delayedlocking is active.When all the doors are closed, the doors will lockautomatically after five seconds. If a door is reopenedbefore five seconds have elapsed, the five second timerwill reset itself once all the doors are closed again.You can press the door lock switch again or the lockbutton on the RKE transmitter to override this featureand lock the doors immediately.You can turn this feature off using the Driver InformationCenter (DIC). When delayed locking is off, the doorswill lock immediately when you press the powerdoor lock switch or the lock button on the RKEtransmitter. See DIC Vehicle Customization onpage 3-68 for more information.Programmable Automatic DoorLocksIf your vehicle has an automatic transmission, thevehicle is programmed so that the doors will lockautomatically when all doors are closed, the ignition ison, and the shift lever is moved out of PARK (P).The doors will automatically unlock when you stop thevehicle and move the shift lever back into PARK (P).If your vehicle has a manual transmission, the vehicle isprogrammed so that the doors will lock automaticallyafter the vehicle speed reaches 5 mph (8 km). The doorswill automatically unlock when the ignition is turnedoff and the key is removed from the ignition.If someone needs to exit the vehicle once the doors arelocked, have that person use the manual lever orpower door lock switch. When the door is closed again,it will not lock automatically. Use the manual lever orthe power door lock switch to lock the door.The power door locks can be programmed throughprompts displayed on the Driver InformationCenter (DIC).
