Matching Transmitter(s) to YourVehicleEach RKE transmitter is coded to prevent anothertransmitter from unlocking your vehicle. If a transmitteris lost or stolen, a replacement can be purchasedthrough your dealer/retailer. All transmitters need to bere-coded to match the new transmitter.The lost transmitter will no longer work after the newtransmitters are re-coded. The vehicle can have amaximum of eight transmitters matched to it. See“Relearn Remote Key” under DIC Operation andDisplays on page 3-48.Battery ReplacementReplace the battery if the Replace Battery In RemoteKey message displays in the DIC. See “Replace BatteryIn Remote Key” under DIC Warnings and Messageson page 3-54 for additional information.Notice: When replacing the battery, use care not totouch any of the circuitry. Static from your bodytransferred to these surfaces may damage thetransmitter.To replace the battery in the RKE transmitter:1. Separate the halves of the transmitter with a flat,thin object inserted into the notch, located abovethe metal base.2. Remove the old battery. Do not use a metal object.3. Insert the new battery, positive side facing up.Replace with a CR2032 or equivalent battery.4. Put the transmitter back together tightly.2-8
