– 18 –ARMING PERIMETER ONLYWith Entry Delay OFFUsing the 7 INSTANT KeyBEFORE ARMING, make sure all non-main doors and windows are closed.Refer to CHECKING FOR OPEN ZONES on page 14.Use this key when you are staying inside and you do not expect anyone to usean entry/exit door.1. Enter your security code and press the INSTANT key.2. The keypad will beep three times and display the armed message. The redARMED indicator will light. Note that there is an exit delay in effectbefore arming actually takes place. See the note below.3. After arming, an alarm will sound immediately if any protectedperimeter door or window is opened, but you may otherwise move freelythroughout the premises.An alarm will sound immediately if anyone opens an entry/exit door.If you wish to open the entry/exit door to let someone in after armingINSTANT, you can restart the exit delay at any time – simply press the [T]key, and then let that person in. This will avoid having to disarm the systemand then re-arm it again.Note: When you first arm the system in the INSTANT mode, “YOU MAYEXIT NOW” will be displayed on an alpha keypad during theprogrammed exit delay. This delay is in effect in the system even whenarming INSTANT.
