Installation ManualH3C S7500 Series Ethernet Switches Chapter 6 Hardware Maintenance6-26.2.1 Installing a Power ModuleFollow these steps to install a power module:1) Wear the ESD-preventive wrist strap and take a new power module out of thepackage. Check that the power module conforms to the power input.2) Grasp the power module handle with one hand and hold the module bottom withthe other. Slide the module slowly along the guide rails into the chassis (See ① inFigure 6-1). Ensure the power module is in contact with the power socket on thepower distribution box.Caution:Insert the power module steadily. Make sure the power module is not installed upsidedown. If the pin springs up during insertion, the system will give an alarm and the pinwill not be seated into the hole. To avoid breaking or tilting the power terminals, if thepower module has not been inserted in properly, you should slide it out and insert itagain.3) Place the air filter against the inside of the power module shell and spread it out.4) Fasten the captive screws to fix the power module onto the chassis (See ② inFigure 6-1).Caution:z If the captive screws cannot be fastened, check whether the power module isproperly seated.z Dust may block the vent on the air filter of the power module over a long period oftime. You are recommended to periodically clean the filter to guarantee the heatdissipation of the chassis.z Clean the air filter with water and air-dry it.6.2.2 Removing a Power ModuleFollow these steps to remove a power module (just in the opposite way you install apower module):1) Wear the ESD-preventive wrist strap and loosen the captive screws on the powermodule.
