54 ClearStream CS615 User Manual - Copyright © 2008, 2007 Ziova CorporationUsing Your ClearStream PlayerBrowsing SMB SharesYour ClearStream has the ability to browse SMB network shares to make it easy foryou to play content that you have stored on computers on your network.Once your network is configured and you are connected to your local network, allyou have to do is choose ‘Local Network’ from the main menu when you arechoosing your media source. See Navigating Media Sources for more information.To access local PCs on your network your ClearStream must be in the sameworkgroup as the PCs you wish to access and you must have your media shared onyour PC. For more information please see Configuring Network Sharing and NetworkSetupMake sure that files and shares have access granted to “Everyone”.You may need to enable the “Guest” account on Windows PCs.To connect to a PC on your network it must be turned on and connected to the network.You may have to configure, or disable, software firewalls to enable communication betweenyour ClearStream and PC. Please refer to your firewall documentation for more information.SMB/FTP Server AccessThe inbuilt SMB/FTP Server means you can access your optional Hard Disk totransfer or access files from any PC on your Network. When the SMB Server isenabled your ClearStream will be available on the Network under its device name.The default device name is ‘CS615’ – See Network Setup for more information. Ifyou browse your local network workgroup you will see the CS615 listed with a sharecalled “Media” which is the Hard Disk in the ClearStream.You can also access the shared drive directly using the UNC path ‘\\\media’where is the device name of your ClearStream.You can access the ClearStream using any compatible FTP client using the FTPaddress ‘ftp://CS615’If you enter a FTP/SMB Password and enable FTP/SMB Server Security you will berequired to enter a username and password to access your ClearStream. The defaultuser is “cs615-user” and the password is the FTP/SMB Password you enter.
