F.1 N2 Specifications and ConfigurationThe bypasses can be monitored and controlled by a controller on a Metasys N2 network (N2) using RS-485 technology. Thebypass act as slaves on the N2 network.Up to 255 bypasses can communicate on a single N2 network. If more bypasses or N2 devices are required, another N2 networkis required. The N2 node address is configurable by a parameter in the bypass. This defines the physical address of the bypass on the N2network.Once the addressing is set, a controller can initiate communication to the bypass. The bypass will perform the specified functionand then send a response back to the controller.Z1000 Z1000 Z1000Bypass Bypass BypassN2Metasys FieldControllerFigure F.1 Connecting Multiple Bypasses to a Metasys N2 NetworkN2 specifications appear in the following table:Item SpecificationsInterface RS-485Communication ParametersCommunication Speed: 9600 bpsData Length: 8-bit (fixed)Parity: NoneStop Bit: 1-bit (fixed)Protocol Metasys N2Max Number of Drives 255 per N2 Network SegmentF.1 N2 Specifications and Configuration424 YASKAWA ELECTRIC SIEP YAIZ1B 01E YASKAWA AC Drive – Z1000 Bypass Technical Manual
