57_ TroubleshootingPROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTIONSteam from the vent When using the convectionfeature, it is normal to see steamcoming out of the oven vent.• This is normal.As the number of racks or amountof food being cooked increases,the amount of visible steam willincrease.Burning or oily odoremitting from theventThis is normal in a new oven andwill disappear in time.• To speed the process, set a self-cleaningcycle for a minimum of 3 hours.• See the section on self-cleaning on page49.Strong odor An odor from the insulation aroundthe inside of the oven is normalfor the first few times the oven isused.• This is temporary.Fan noise A convection fan may automaticallyturn on and off.• This is normal.Oven racks aredifficult to slide.The shiny, silver-colored rackswere cleaned in a self-cleaningcycle.• Apply a small amount of vegetable oil toa paper towel and wipe the edges of theoven racks with the paper towel.Display goes blank. A fuse in your home may be blownor the circuit breaker tripped.• Replace the fuse or reset the circuitbreaker.Display flashes. There was a power failure. • Reset the clock.Drawer does notslide smoothly ordrags.The drawer is out of alignment. • Fully extend the drawer and push it all theway in.
