Click the DNS tab toopen the Network Properties DNS dialog (Figure 3-10). Use the NetworkProperties DNS dialog to enable the DNS Client on the switch and the DNS serverto map domain names to IP addresses. Table 3-6 describes the DNSconfiguration parameters.Discovery Choose one of the following methods by which toassign the IP address: Static — uses the IP configuration parametersentered in the Network Properties dialog Dhcpv6 (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol ver-sion 6) — acquires the IP configuration from aDHCP server. If no satisfactory lease is obtained,the DHCP client attempts to use the previouslyconfigured lease. If the previous lease cannot beused, no IP address will be assigned to this switchin order to avoid an IP address conflict. NDP — Neighbor Discovery Protocol. Part of theStateless Address Auto configuration protocol.
