21TV Operation Top viewInitial Setup (Ready to Play)After plugging the unit into your household AC outlet and pressingPOWER to turn the unit on for the first time, the unit assists youto set the on-screen language, and automatically tunes in all thechannels it can receive and sets the clock.The unit automatically determines the type of transmission(airwaves or cable) and puts them into channels as follows.Preparation• Turn on the television and select the appropriate video input to suit theconnections to this unit.• Confirm that the antenna is connected correctly.1 Press POWER.• For remote POWER buttonto function, unit POWERmust be ON.2 Press ▲▼ to selectthe language andpress ENTER.• The unit then proceeds with Auto Clock Setting. The time isdisplayed when finished.• If “No Channels found...” is displayed, press ENTER again.• DST, Daylight Saving Time, shows the summertime setting.• TIME ZONE shows the time difference from Greenwich meantime(GMT).EST (Eastern Standard Time) = GMT –5CST (Central Standard Time) = GMT –6MST (Mountain Standard Time) = GMT –7PST (Pacific Standard Time) = GMT –8AST (Alaska Standard Time) = GMT –9HST (Hawaii Standard Time) = GMT –10For other areas: xx hr5 Press ENTER. If the clock is an hour slower or faster than theactual timeSelect “–1” or “+1” in “Time Zone Adjust” in the SETUP menu.(p. 23) If the unit couldn’t set the clock automaticallySet the time manually. (Refer to “Manual Clock Setting” on page23.) To start Auto Channel Setting again (afterrelocation, for example)Reset the unit.
