English - 14 -Switching On/OffTo Switch the TV OnConnect the power cord to a power source such as awall socket (220-240V AC, 50 Hz).To switch on the TV from standby mode either:• Press the Standby button, Programme +/- or anumeric button on the remote control.• Press the centre of the joystick on the TV in or pushit up/down.To Switch the TV OffPress the Standby button on the remote control orpress the centre of the joystick on the TV in and holdit down for a few seconds, the TV will switch intostandby mode.To power down the TV completely, unplug thepower cord from the mains socket.Note: When the TV is switched into standby mode, the standbyLED can blink to indicate that features such as StandbySearch, Over Air Download or Timer is active. The LED canalso blink when you switch on the TV from standby mode.First Time InstallationWhen turned on for the first time, the languageselection screen is displayed. Select the desiredlanguage and press OK. In the following steps ofthe installation guide, set your preferences using thedirectional buttons and OK button.On the second screen set your country preference.Depending on the Country selection you may be askedto set and confirm a PIN at this point. The selected PINcannot be 0000. You have to enter it if you are askedto enter a PIN for any menu operation later.You can activate Store Mode option in the next step.This option will configure your TV’s settings for storeenvironment and depending on the TV model beingused, the supported features of it may be displayed onthe side of the screen as an info banner. This optionis intended only for store use. It is recommended toselect Home Mode for home use. This option will beavailable in Settings>System>More menu and canbe turned off/on later. Make your selection and pressOK to continue.Depending on the model of your TV and the countryselection Privacy Settings menu may appear atthis point. Using this menu you can set your privacyprivileges. Highlight a feature and use Left andRight directional buttons to enable or disable. Readthe related explanations displayed on the screenfor each highlighted feature before making anychanges. You can use Programme +/- buttons toscroll up and down to read the entire text. You willbe able to change your preferences at any timelater from the Settings>System>Privacy Settingsmenu. If the Internet Connection option is disabledNetwork/Internet Settings screen will be skippedand not displayed. After the settings are completed highlight Nextand press OK button to continue.On the next screen you need to agree to the termsand conditions of Freeview Play to make use of therelated services. Scroll the page to read the entire textusing the up/down directional buttons or Programme+/- buttons. Highlight Yes and press OK on the remoteto confirm and proceed. Highlight No and press OK toproceed without confirmation. For further requirementsfor Freeview Play services refer to the Freeview PlayPlatform section.On next screen you can set broadcast types to besearched, set your encrypted channel searchingand time zone (depending on the country selection)preferences. Additionally you can set a broadcasttype as your favourite one. Priority will be given to theselected broadcast type during the search processand the channels of it will be listed on the top of thechannel list. When finished, highlight Next and pressOK to continue.About Selecting Broadcast TypeTo turn a search option for a broadcast type highlightit and press OK. The checkbox next to the selectedoption will be checked. To turn the search option offclear the checkbox by pressing OK after moving thefocus on the desired broadcast type option.Digital Aerial: If D. Aerial broadcast search optionis turned on, the TV will search for digital terrestrialbroadcasts after other initial settings are completed.Digital Cable: If D. Cable broadcast search optionis turned on, the TV will search for digital cablebroadcasts after other initial settings are completed.A message will be displayed before starting to searchasking if you want to perform cable network search. Ifyou select Yes and press OK you can select Networkor set values such as Frequency, Network ID andSearch Step on the next screen. If you select Noand press OK you can set Start Frequency, StopFrequency and Search Step on the next screen.When finished, highlight Next and press OK buttonto continue.Note: Searching duration will change depending on theselected Search Step.Satellite: If Satellite broadcast search option is turnedon, the TV will search for digital satellite broadcastsafter other initial settings are completed.
