TV to VCR downloadIf a Q-Link, NEXTVIEWLINK or compatible VCR has been connected to the AV2socket before starting Step 1, programme information will be downloaded to theVCR.Downloaded tuning data will match the television’s.Not all VCRs support this download of programme information, some may requireto be started manually. Refer to the VCR operating instruction book.If a VCR other than those described above has been connected, then there willbe no download operation.Notes:If the VCR has not accepted download data from the TV, you may need to select the Download option from theVCR’s menu system.Refer to the VCR operating instruction book.If Q-Link is not operating correctly, check the following:• The Scart cable is connected to the TV’s AV2 Scart socket.• The Scart cable is connected to the VCR’s compatible (Q-Link, NEXTVIEWLINK or similar technology) Scartsocket.• The Scart cable is a “fully wired” type.For further information on Q-Link and connecting equipment, see pages 6, 7, 8, 10 ,11 and 38.• The sorted programme order depends upon the TV signal, the broadcasting system, and reception conditions.If the order is not to your preference it can be rearranged. Q-Link, NEXTVIEWLINK and similar technology provide a way for a TV and VCR to communicate,making it easier to record programmes. In order to be able to exchange information both the TV and the VCR must befitted with this technology, and must be connected with a SCARTlead (full function type) between the AV2 socket of theTV and the appropriate socket on the VCR (see the VCR instruction book for details).Q-Link lets your TV instruct a compatible VCR to record the programme currently shown on screen, no matter whatprogramme position is set on the VCR, In order to make use of Q-Link, ensure that the Q-Link option is set to On in theSET UP menu (see page 16).Press the DIRECTTV REC button.Notes:• If the VCR is in Stand-by mode, it will automatically switch on when youpress the DIRECTTV REC button.• To ensure correct recordings are made, the television and VCR shouldshare tuning information (see page 21).• Whenever the Auto setup function is used, tuning data will be downloadedto the VCR (see page 22).6.
