5-2NEC EXPRESSBUILDERThe NEC EXPRESSBUILDER, integrated setup software, can automatically detect the hardwareconnected to an NEC Express5800/ft series machine to advance the processing. The hardwaresubject to setup with the NEC EXPRESSBUILDER should have the same configuration as that foroperation.Start MenuThe NEC EXPRESSBUILDER provides three procedures to start the server as described below. Themenus and items appearing on the screen vary depending on the procedures. Booting (starting) the server from NEC EXPRESSBUILDER CD-ROMFor the procedure, insert the NECEXPRESSBUILDER CD-ROM into theCD-ROM drive of the NEC Express5800/ft seriesand start the NEC Express5800/ft series from thesystem in the NEC EXPRESSBUILDER. Whenthe NEC Express5800/ft series is started by usingthis procedure, the NEC EXPRESSBUILDER topmenu shown on the right appears.Perform the NEC Express5800/ft series setupfrom this menu.IMPORTANT: Don’t use this CD-ROM on computers other than NEC Express5800/ftseries with which it is packaged (including other NEC Express5800 models). Booting (starting) the server fromNEC EXPRESSBUILDER CD-ROM inthe consoleless stateIf the NEC EXPRESSBUILDER isstarted from the CD-ROM drive in theserver with the keyboard, mouse, and/ordisplay unit not connected to the server,the NEC EXPRESSBUILDER ToolsMenu shown on the right appears on thescreen of the management computer (PC)connected to the server through LAN orCOM (serial port).Then operate the server remotely from the management PC by using the items in the menu.
