If the multimeter still does not function, check the operatingprocedures in this manual. When servicing, use only the specified replacementparts.The table below will assist you in identifying some basic malfunctions.WARNING To avoid electrical shock, do not perform any servicing unless you arequalified to do so.CAUTION Any repair or service which is not covered in this manual should only beperformed by qualified personnel.Table 2-1 Operating checklistMal function IdentificationNo display when powered ON using the rotary switch – Verify the condition of the batteries and replace batteries as necessary.No beeper tone – Verify that the beeper is enabled in the multimeter’s setup mode.Failed on current measurement – Verify the condition of the fuses and replace the fuses as necessary.Failed on remote control– Verify the optical side of the IR-USB cable connected to themultimeter — the Keysight logo should be facing up.– Verify the baud rate, data bit, and parity settings in the multimeter’ssetup mode. (Default values are 9600, 8, and none.)– Verify the driver for the IR-USB interface.
