It is used for nonlinear measurements with the PNA-Xnonlinear vector network analyzer (NVNA). NVNA requires twocomb generators, one is connected during measurements andanother is used only during calibration. A comb generator is alsoused to characterize the VNA receivers for delay measurementsof frequency converters using PNA-X or PNA instruments and theSMC+Phase measurement class (part of S93083B/A).CalPod calibration refresh modules (8553xB/4xA)PNA-X PNA PNA-LCalPod calibration refresh modules allow in-situ calibrationrefreshes to be performed at the push of a button withoutremoving the DUT or re-connecting calibration standards.CalPods are designed for any measurement situation where itis desirable to ensure that a valid calibration is present beforerecording measurement data. For example, they are useful forremoving environmental effects such as cable movement andthermal-based changes of cables, connectors, and adapters, aswell as connector and switch-matrix repeatability errors. Themodules are especially useful in temperature, or thermal-vacuumchamber testing. Coaxial connectors are SMB-male.The PULSE IN connectors are for controlling the analyzer’sinternal IF gates, which are enabled with S93026B/A and usedwith narrowband detection. The PULSE OUT connectors arefrom the four internal pulse generators, which are enabledwith S93025/26B/A. The PULSE SYNC IN connector is used tosynchronize the internal pulse generators with an external timingpulse.
