ENGLISH46More about this unitGeneralTurning on the power• By pressing SOURCE on the unit, you canalso turn on the power. If the source is ready,playback starts.Watching picture• If you change the aspect ratio to “Just,” bothsides of the picture are extended horizontallyto fit the picture to the monitor size. It maycause the center portion of the picture to lookdistorted.FM/AMStoring stations in memory• When SSM is over, received stations arepreset in No. 1 (lowest frequency) to No. 6(highest frequency).DiscGeneral• In this manual, words “track” and “file” areinterchangeably used.• This unit can also play back 8 cm discs.• This unit can only play back audio CD(CD-DA) files if different type of files arerecorded in the same disc.• This unit can display only one-bytecharacters. No other characters can becorrectly displayed.Inserting a disc• When a disc is inserted upside down, “DiscError Please Eject” appears on the monitor.Eject the disc.Ejecting a disc• If the ejected disc is not removed within15 seconds, the disc is automatically insertedagain into the loading slot to protect it fromdust. (Disc will not play this time.)Speaker/signal indicators• The speaker indicators—squares around “L,”“R,” “LS,” and “RS” lights in light blue, whenthe corresponding speakers are set to “Large”or “Small” (☞ page 40).• The center speaker indicator—square around“C” lights in light blue, when the centerspeaker is set to “Large” or “Small” and whensurround is activated.• Sounds come out of the speakers whosespeaker indicators are lit on the monitor.• The SW indicator lights up when “SubWoofer” is set to “On” (☞ page 40).• The signal indicators indicate the incomingsignals—L (front left) / R (front right) / C(center) / LFE (low frequency effect) / LS (leftsurround) / RS (right surround) / S (monauralsurround).• If the speaker is activated, but the signalscorresponding to the speaker are not comingin, the signal indicators changes their colorfrom white to black to indicate no signalscoming in (therefore no sound comes throughthe corresponding speakers).Changing the source• If you change the source with Dual Zonedeactivated, playback also stops withoutejecting the disc.Next time you select “DISC” for the playbacksource, disc play starts from where it has beenstopped previously.Speaker indicators Signal indicators
